Samsung SmartTV customers warned personal conversations may be recorded – Telegraph.

Users of the voice recognition feature on Samsung’s internet-connected SmartTV have been warned that personal conversations could be recorded and transmitted to third parties.

A sentence buried in the television’s privacy policy advises users to be careful about what they say when using the software.

It says: “Samsung may collect and your device may capture voice commands and associated texts so that we can provide you with Voice Recognition features and evaluate and improve the features.”

“Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party.”

The warning has raised questions about whom the third party might be, how they would use the information and how the conversations are transmitted.
