Pavlos Efraimidis
Associate Professor DUTH

I am an Associate Professor in Algorithms and Director of the Algorithms and Privacy Research Unit (https://euclid.ee.duth.gr).

I was born in Neuss, Germany, in June 1971. I received my PhD in Informatics in 2000 from the University of Patras and the diploma of Computer Engineering and Informatics from the same university in 1995. I joined the Faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Democritus University in 2003, where I was elected Associate Professor at the end of 2014.

My main work is on algorithms and my current research interests are in the fields of algorithmic game theory and algorithmic aspects of privacy. I have published over 50 refereed technical papers and book chapters, and participated in over 12 national and European research projects. I have worked for the Computer Technology Institute in Patras (1997-2000) and since 2003 for the Athena Research Center (Adjunct Researcher). My industrial experience includes working as a computer engineer in the high performance computing field (Parsytec Computer GmbH, Aachen, Germany) and in the financial sector (ASYK – Athens Stock Exchange, Athens, Greece).

I have graduated one Ph.D student and around 10 MSc students, and currently I am supervising 4 PhD students and 3 MSc students. My citations can be found in http://scholar.google.gr/scholar?q=P.S.+Efraimidis.

I was the head of the division of Software and Applications Development of my department, from March 2015 to November 2017.
